About us
Over more than 30 years, Sloan Builders has earned a reputation for quality craftsmanship and reliable service across Kintyre and Argyll.
Quality at Sloan Builders starts from the ground up, quite literally. Paul and his team construct the house kits and build the timber frames themselves at the company workshop in Lochview, Whitehouse, with Paul personally project managing every build from initial groundworks through to final completion.
Much of our work involves the renovation and extension of older properties across Kintyre and Argyll, and it is work we approach with real care and consideration. Many of the buildings in this part of Scotland have significant character and history, and where conservation is a factor we take a sympathetic approach, staying true to the original materials, proportions and spirit of the building. Our goal is always to sensitively improve a property while preserving what makes it special.
At the same time, we ensure that every renovation is fit for the future. Whether that means improving energy efficiency, upgrading heating and plumbing systems or strengthening the building fabric, we bring the same attention to detail to a 200-year-old farmhouse as we do to a brand new build.
Central to the way we work is our long-established, loyal workforce. Many of our team have been with us for years, bringing a depth of experience and skill that simply can’t be rushed. We believe strongly in passing those skills on, actively encouraging apprenticeships and supporting the next generation of tradespeople in Argyll. Good building is a craft, and we’re committed to keeping that craft alive in this part of Scotland.
